These databases provide access to thousands of online resources and are available for use in our libraries at no charge.  Please ask at the Reference Desk upstairs in Hastings Library or at the Issue Desks at Havelock North & Flaxmere Libraries. They may also be accessed over the internet.  Use your library card number for login ID.

EPIC databases provide easy access to information on most topics, found in thousands of full-text titles.  Included are New Zealand and international full text articles from journals, magazines and newspapers, and from reference sources: dictionaries, encyclopedias and directories. 

EPIC databases:
  Are updated frequently
  Offer authoritative material
  Include many formats, e.g. maps, images, graphics
  Cover a wide range of subjects
  Provide information at different levels
  Include links to recommended Internet sites
  Have increasing New Zealand content, including useful full-text titles, e.g. NZ Herald, Metro, North & South, New Zealand authors and fiction.

The Australia/NZ Reference Centre combines Australasian magazines, newspapers, newswires and reference books to create the largest collection of regional full text content available to libraries in Oceania. This database includes leading Australia/NZ periodicals and international periodicals in full text; full text reference books; 85,639 full text biographies and an Image Collection of 285,912 photos, maps and flags.
