The following activities and areas cannot be allocated community grants or funding.
- Individuals
- Projects or activities that have the ability to obtain funds from other Council administered sources, i.e. Creative Communities, Youth Funding.
- Projects where assistance is the responsibility of council departments and funding may be sought from internal operating budgets.
- Projects where Council considers assistance is the responsibility of central government departments or agencies, or some other funding body such as health, education or the provision of utilities.
- Retrospective funding where the work is already completed.
- Groups or organisations seeking to promote commercial, political or religious objectives, including political advocacy projects, employment or business initiatives and commercial enterprises.
- School or pre-school activities/programmes except where these are outside the school curriculum and for the benefit of the wider community.
- Groups or organisations which seek to redistribute funds to other recipients at their own discretion. This includes prize monies or sponsorship.
- Groups that have not returned their accountability form from the previous year’s funding.
- Holding or hosting of a regional or national tournament or event (refer Events Fund)
- Consumables e.g. food, toiletries, cleaning materials
- Conference attendance
- Bank fees or legal fees
- Debt repayment or refinancing of existing loans
