Welcome to the Hastings district, in the heart of Hawke’s Bay Wine Country. This website is designed to give you a glimpse of our beautiful district, and an understanding of this Council’s role in the community.

Hastings is proving increasingly popular as a place to live and work. Technology innovations, solid infrastructure, a skilled workforce and a convenient central North Island location combine with stunning vineyards and award winning wines, an unbeatable climate, fabulous architecture and beautiful natural features. Hastings is where business and lifestyle come together.

As a Council we are determined to enhance and protect those things that make us so unique. Through public consultation we seek the views of our community to help us in making those important decisions, and you’ll find options on this website to make that process even easier.
