Te Awanga/Haumoana/Parkhill and Clifton Coastal Structure Plan
Hastings District Council is developing coastal structure plans for the District's coastal communities. The 20-year plans aim to manage coastal residential expansion, reserves and parks, services - including water, stormwater and wastewater, roads, walkways and cycleways as well as beautification. ConsultationEach resident received a newsletter, Roundhere (PDF, 905 KB), in November 2003. The newsletter outlined information about particular topics in Haumoana, Te Awanga and Parkhill and then asked that all residents to provide feedback and come to two open days which were scheduled for Saturday, 13 December and 16 December 2003 at the Haumoana Hall and School Library. |
|
From the two open days and direct feedback from the newsletters, the Council received 165 submissions on a number of issues including coastal development, sewage, cycle ways, beautification and developed recreational playgrounds. Read the summary of the feedback (PDF, 20 KB).
The Council has collated the community's feedback and commissioned technical reports (see below), and are currently producing a Draft Te Awanga/Haumoana Coastal Structure Plan (20-year plan). Once complete, you will have the opportunity again to make a submission on the draft Plan. Watch this space for more information.
Once the Plan has been adopted by the Council, it will be implemented and incorporated into the Long Term Council Community Plan (LTCCP).
