What's next?

Council is in the process of preparing its response to these goals and actions. This is a different process than has occurred before with the former community plans.

Council is using a place-based approach that integrates all work groups within Council, so that there will be a corresponding Council-wide document to work alongside the Flaxmere community towards reaching its vision.

There is also the opportunity for community groups and Government organisations to form a response to the goals and aspirations of the Flaxmere community through this ‘Passport to Flaxmere’s Future’ Plan.

Flaxmere Community Plan (Original)

In partnership with the Council, the Flaxmere community has developed a plan to improve the social, cultural, environmental and economic well-being of Flaxmere.

The Plan provides a framework with goals and actions needed to help reach the vision. It is a collaborative approach and needs the input of many individuals, groups and organisations.
A dedicated group of Flaxmere residents was established in November 2005 to oversee the implementation and monitor the progress of the plan.
