Leased Parking

Leased parking is an easy way to ensure a carpark within the Hastings central business district. When you lease a parking space, you have exclusive use of the space, seven days a week.

The cost to lease a carpark from Hastings District Council ranges from $70 to $80/month. Leased parks are available in:

• Hastings
  • Lyndon Road East
  • Warren Street North
  • Market Street South
  • Queen Street West
  • King Street North
• Havelock North
  • Te Aute Rd/Porter Drive
  • Havelock Road
  • Joll Road
  • Donnelly Street

Paying for leased carparks

You can pay for your leased park in three different ways:

• Pay on invoice over the counter at the main civic administration building, 207 Lyndon Road East, Hastings
• Pay on invoice by cheque and mailed into the Hastings District Council
• Pay by direct credit. Enquiries should be directed to the Council's Parking team (06 871 5000)

Cancelling a leased carpark

All cancellations must be in writing.

Please note: If you have a monthly lease agreement then the Parking team require 14 days (two weeks) notice before the end of that lease-month. For example, if your lease agreement started on the 20th of a month, the Parking team would require notice of cancellation no later than the 6th of any month for the cancellation to take effect on the 20th.

Someone parked in your space?

First contact the Council (06 871 5000), advising them of your contact details, your car and park details, and the details of the offending vehicle.

You are then allowed to park on the nearest legal park - meter or restricted P30, P60 or P120, or pay and display park. Contact the Council and advise them of where you have parked your car so they can advise the Parking team. The Parking team will contact you if the offending vehicle is removed and you can return your car to your park.
