There may not be any such a thing as a free lunch but breakfast is on offer for cyclists who make the effort to bike to the city centre tomorrow morning.
Hastings is taking part in the national Go By Bike Day – with a free breakfast for those who get in quick between 7.30am – 8.30am tomorrow morning (Wednesday, February 18) at the performance stage (near the Clock Tower) in Hastings’ CBD.
Not only is breakfast free but it’s healthy - with muffins, fresh Hawke’s Bay fruit, locally produced juice and water provided by local companies.
Hastings District Council and Sustaining Hawke’s Bay Trust have been joined by Sport Hawke’s Bay, Bike HB, RoadSafe, MoreFM and Avanti Plus Hastings in organising the breakfast.
Cycling to work, school or for play has become more and more popular in Hawke’s Bay in the wake of high petrol prices, environmental awareness and the development of the Rotary Pathway network.
Go By Bike Day is a great way to encourage more people to take up cycling.
A good turn out is expected and we welcome media to join the event.
