 <title>Hastings welcomes 25 new citizens</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Hastings will welcome 25 new New Zealanders at a citizenship ceremony to be held on Wednesday February 1st, 2012, from 6 pm in the Te Aranga Marae, 18 Boston Crescent, Flaxmere.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;A Kaumatua will welcome those present on behalf of tangata whenua.  <title>More mobile sirens ready in case of emergency in Hastings coastal areas</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Hastings District Council now has three mobile Public Alert Systems for use in the event of a Civil Defence emergency, with more being delivered in the next few weeks.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The units have been developed in Hastings for use in coastal areas during an emergency.  <title>Diversity key to Hastings International Cultures Day</title>

 <description>&lt;p&gt;Organisers are again seeking a diverse range of performers and stall holders to enhance International Cultures day.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;p&gt;The event was first launched in 1999 by then Hastings Mayor Jeremy Dwyer and the New Zealand China Friendship Society for the Asia 2000 celebrations. Since 2003 it has become an annual event and a fixture on the Hastings events calendar.  <title>Memorial service to mark 81 years since big quake</title>
