Hastings welcomes 25 new citizens

Hastings will welcome 25 new New Zealanders at a citizenship ceremony to be held Wednesday, 18th February from 6 pm in the Hastings District Council Chambers.

The candidates’ nationalities are as follows:  

Samoan     9

British       3

Bangladeshi    1

American  3

Fijian        3

Indian       4

New Zealander  1

Australian  1

A Kaumatua will welcome those present on behalf of tangata whenua.

Hastings District Council Councillors will present each candidate with a kowhai tree to symbolise “putting down roots”.
