A new reception area being installed in the Hastings War Memorial Library this month will mean limited services are available for a few days.
The reduced hours will ensure public safety while the work is being done, says Hastings District Council’s libraries manager Paula Murdoch.
“The work will be ongoing throughout the week and customers should expect some noise and dust but a better result at the end of the inconvenience.”
On Monday 17th August the library will not open until 1pm and will close at the normal 5pm.
On Tuesday 18th August the library will open at 10am and close at 8pm.
The Hall of Memories entrance will be closed during the week of August 17 to 21.
A temporary staffed area with limited service will be set up by the self-check machines during this time.
“Staff will be working from a temporary terminal so there will be limits on the services available for this week.”
Ms Murdoch says the Flaxmere and Havelock North branches will be open normal hours during this time with full service available.
