Plan Change 51 - Heritage Items and Trees

Proposed Plan Change 51 updates and amends the provisions relating to the protection of heritage items and trees in the Hastings District Plan.

These include some minor changes to the policies and rules as well as the addition of new heritage items and trees to the appendices in Section 12.5 (Heritage Items and Trees RMU).  Also Plan Change 51 proposes to include definitions of ‘Significant’ and ‘Outstanding’ trees in Section 18.0 (Definitions).

The changes aim to improve the effectiveness and efficiency in the protection of heritage items and trees within the Hastings District.

  1. Add a significant trees list as appendices 12.5-1(C) and (D)
  2. Update appendices 12.5-1(A) and (B) by adding new trees and deleting trees which no longer qualify for protection.
  3. Update appendix 12.5-2(A) by adding the proposed new buildings.

Decisions on Submissions

In accordance with the requirements of Clause 10 of Schedule 1 of the Resource Management Act 1991, notice is given that proposed Plan Change 51 is deemed to have been amended in accordance with the decisions on submissions from the date of this notice.
