Proposed Private Plan Change 55

The Hastings District Council has proposed changes to the Hastings District Plan to establish a new Flaxmere Village Centre Zone.

The intent of this Plan Change is to have planning provisions that are specific to the Flaxmere village centre, rather than the existing generic zonings applying to several places across the District.

Plan Change 55 seeks to establish a new zone entitled ‘Flaxmere Village Centre Zone’ and three new precincts – Commercial Precinct, Commercial Service Precinct and Community /Residential Precinct.

Consequential amendments are proposed to several related sections of the Plan.

The purpose of the plan change is to introduce a place-based section in the plan which promotes the enhancement of a vibrant village centre, enabling a full service supermarket, and opportunities for new development.
