Home : Property Information : Water Services

Hastings District Council supplies quality drinking water, collects and treats wastewater, and disposes of stormwater for Hastings properties connected to our network.

The Council is responsible for the management and operation of underground services (stormwater, wastewater and water) and for the facilities, pump stations and the East Clive Wastewater Treatment plant.

Services are provded to the communities of Hastings, Havelock North, Flaxmere, Clive, Whakatu, Haumoana, Te Awanga, Paki Paki, Waipatu, Omahu, Waimarama, Whirinaki, Waipatiki and Bridge Pa.

Your rates bill has a breakdown of the costs involved in the above services. For domestic customers the rates for water and sewer are expressed as a UAC (Uniform Annual Charge). The cost of supplying/treating, maintaining and upgrading the sewerage and water networks are calculated and apportioned over the number of customers in each supply area to produce a UAC for each supply area.
