Building Related Approvals

Sometimes building work may be delayed while other approvals are sought because they were not identified early enough.  We recommend you speak to your designer to ensure all approvals required for your project are applied for.

Some other approvals and project requirements include:

NOTE:  It is important to discuss your proposal and any requirements that may be necessary with the appropriate Council Officer before planning/commencing work.

Other project considerations:

  • Rapid number request – to identify rural residences from the road.
  • Licence to Occupy – short term use of the footpath or other public space to erect a crane, scaffolding, etc.
  • Parking hood hireage – reserving parking spaces for construction vehicles.
  • Onsite wastewater systems may need Hawke’s Bay Regional Council consent.
  • Drinking water supply may need water analysis.
