Hastings District Council has received a Notice of Requirement from Transit New Zealand for the designation of the Hawke’s Bay Expressway Southern Extension.
The designation will complete the Hawke’s Bay Expressway between the Hawke’s Bay Airport and the Longlands Road roundabout to the south of Hastings on State Highway 50A.
The Notice of Requirement seeks to designate an area of land as “Road Purposes – State Highway” to extend the Hawke’s Bay Expressway south for approximately 3.1 kilometres from the existing York Road roundabout at Flaxmere to a new 5-leg roundabout at Longlands Road to the south of Hastings.
Plans showing specific properties affected by the extension of the Hawke’s Bay Expressway and link road are shown in the Notice of Requirement documentation.

Submissions
Any person may make a submission on the Notice of Requirement. You may do so by sending a written submission to the Hastings District Council at Private Bag 9002, Hastings. The submission must be on Form 21.
