Notices of Requirement

Notices of Requirement are made by government and local government under Section 168 of the Resource Management Act 1991. They have a similar consultative process to notified Resource Consent applications.

Hearings

Hastings District Council holds a formal hearing about a notified application in the Council Chamber situated in our main civic administration building, 207 Lyndon Road East, in Hastings. A hearing allows anyone who has made a submission to a notified resource consent to explain their views about the application.

If a pre-hearing meeting is arranged, all those who have submitted will be invited to attend. This is an informal way for the applicants and any submitters to discuss the application. Applicants don’t have to go to a pre-hearing meeting, but it can be a useful way to save time at the hearing itself, or even avoid the need for a hearing altogether.
