Irongate Orchard Partnership

The Hastings District Council has received an application for resource consent and supporting Assessment of Environmental Effects from Irongate Orchards Partnership to operate industrial and commercial activities (being the storage of dry goods & produce and use of sheds for light industrial activities) from an existing packhouse and coolstores at 90 Irongate Road, Hastings.

The proposal involves the following:

  • The use of the cool stores (marked as shed 1 and shed 2 on the Proposed Activity Plan attached below) for the purpose of the storage of dry goods or produce of all types;
  • The use of the sheds marked as sheds 3, 6. 7, 8, 9, and 10 (as identified on the Proposed Activity Plan attached below) for Industrial Activities Limited to:
    • (a). Fabrication or wood, plastics and metal of all types into new products;
    • (b). Packing or storage of dry goods and food products;
    • (c). Servicing and repair of goods and machinery and in any case by the use of machinery or by hand.
  • For dispensation of the side yard setback distance required (15 metres for the front yard and 15metres for all other boundaries) for Industrial Buildings; and
  • Dispensation for the maximum gross floor area limits and personnel limits for industrial activities in the Plains Zone.

The subject site is zoned Plains Zone in the Hastings District Plan and the proposal is a Non-Complying activity. The proposal does not meet the following District Plan standards in Section 6.0: 6.8.2, 6.9.4 & 6.9.5 – these Standards can be viewed by visiting www.hastingsdc.govt.nz/read-hastings-district-plan.

Submissions

Any person may make a submission on the application. You may do so by sending a written submission to the Hastings District Council, Private Bag 9002, Hastings. The submission must be in ‘form 13’. Copies of this form are available from the Council’s Civic Administration building, Lyndon Road East, Hastings, or below

Submissions close at 4.30 pm on 25th September 2009.

As soon as reasonably practicable after serving your submission on the Hastings District Council, you must serve a copy of your submission on Irongate Orchards Partnership, whose address for service is:
