Notice of Requirement - Matahorua Gorge SH2
Notification of Notice of Requirement for a designation under Section 168 of the Resource Management Act 1991
The Hastings District Council has received notice of a requirement for an alteration to a designation from Transit New Zealand.
The requirement is for an alteration to the existing designation of State Highway 2, Matahorua Gorge, between Napier and Wairoa. An additional 28.14 hectares of land is to be included within the designation in order to realign approximately 3 kilometres of the highway.
The site to which the requirement applies is located at Matahorua Gorge, between the towns of Kahika and Putorino.
The realignment commences at the property known as 4355 State Highway 2 and rejoins the existing highway in the vicinity of 4884 State Highway 2. The full extent of the proposed designation is shown on the plans within the Notice of Requirement documentation.

Submissions
Any person may make a submission on the Notice of Requirement. You may do so by sending a written submission to the Hastings District Council at Private Bag 9002, Hastings. The submission must be in form 21.
