Unison Networks (3) - Te Waka Range
This application for a resource consent from Unison Networks Limited has been "called in" by the Minister for the Environment. The Hastings District Council no longer has any formal role in the process.
The application is to erect, operate and maintain a windfarm consisting of up to 34 turbines for the generation of electricity in the vicinity of the Te Waka Range to the west of Te Pohue and State Highway 5, being legally described as:
- SECT 24 BLK XVI Pohue Survey District;
- SECT 23 BLK XVI Pohue Survey District;
- SECT 11 BLK XVI Pohue Survey District;
- SECT 10 BLK XVI Pohue Survey District;
- Pt SECT 9 BLK XVI Pohue Survey District;
- Pt Lot 1 Deed 487;
- Pt Rural Section 1 Pohue Bush;
- Rural Section 2 Pohue Bush;
- Pt Lot 1 DP 5261, Pt Lot 2 DP 8530, Lot 1 DP 12896;
- SECT 7 BLK XVI Pohue Survey District;
- Pt SECT 6 BLK XVI Pohue Survey District;
- SECT 13 BLK XVI Pohue Survey District;
- Unformed legal road (Richmond Road – otherwise known as Rukumoana Road):
The application also includes the following:
- The installation of underground and overhead lines to connect the windfarm to the transmission system;
- The erection, operation and maintenance of up to four meteorological masts;
- The operation of a temporary concrete batching plant;
- The erection of ancillary structures and buildings including:
- collector points for cabling;
- a marshalling facility for cabling;
- an operations and maintenance building
- Indigenous vegetation modification;
- Land disturbance including:
- access formation to turbine sites;
- establishing flat platforms at each turbine site;
- placement of fill;
- establishing platforms for temporary laydown areas, operation and maintenance buildings, and a marshalling facility;
- Trenching and placement of cables:
- Replacement of all equipment and facilities as required.
