Hastings District Council has a lot to offer planners.

Our work environment is built on our organisation's core values:  respect, commitment, integrity and excellence. Senior planning staff have an ‘open door’ policy, and planners have daily contact with their Team Leader and the Environmental Manager, who is our senior planner and part of the Council's management team.

From your first day with us you will be paired with a fellow team member who can help you through your orientation period and answer any questions you have. 

You will also have the opportunity to work with a number of different professional groups including engineers, building officers and environmental health officers.  

If you wish to further your education while you're with the Council, we actively support NZPI training and the local Hawke's Bay Planning Group.

Planners work closely with resource management decision makers. The relationship between planning officers and the Councillors of the Hearings Committee is vital to good and effective public planning decisions.  At Hastings District Council you'll have opportunities to make a real difference in the shaping of our district’s future.
