Community Centres
There are three community centres in the Hastings District - Havelock North Community Centre, Camberley Community Centre and the Flaxmere Community Centre.

Hawke's Bay Opera House
The Hawke's Bay Opera House has held a special place in the hearts of Hastings residents for generations. Formerly known as the Hastings Municipal Theatre, it has hosted thousands of music, drama and other cultural performances, from international-level ballet through to primary school music recitals.

Refuse Transfer Stations
A refuse transfer station (RTS) is a place where the public, including businesses and industries, can dispose of their waste. They are a station where refuse is stored prior to its transfer from the city to the rural landfill.
The Hastings district has two RTSs; Blackbridge on the way to Haumoana, and Henderson Road in Flaxmere.

Hastings City Art Gallery
The aim of the Hastings City Art Gallery is to bring together art that “excites, challenges and extends cultural experiences, and which connects with people, place and identity”.
Hastings Sports Centre
The Hastings Sports Centre is a vibrant and friendly indoor recreation facility, available to the whole community. The Centre has equipment and catering facilities, including rooms for conferences and meetings.

Omarunui Landfill
The Hastings District and Napier City councils operate the Omarunui Landfill, situated at Omarunui Rd.
The landfill is only open to commercial operators/contractors with a Waste Disposal Licence - it's not open to the public. Members of the public should take their waste to one of the local Refuse Transfer Stations.
