Hawke's Bay Opera House

The Hawke's Bay Opera House has held a special place in the hearts of Hastings residents for generations. Refuse Transfer Stations

A refuse transfer station (RTS) is a place where the public, including businesses and industries, can dispose of their waste. They are a station where refuse is stored prior to its transfer from the city to the rural landfill.

The Hastings district has two RTSs; Blackbridge on the way to Haumoana, and Henderson Road in Flaxmere.

Omarunui Landfill

The Hastings District and Napier City councils operate the Omarunui Landfill, situated at Omarunui Rd.

The landfill is only open to commercial operators/contractors with a Waste Disposal Licence -  it's not open to the public. Members of the public should take their waste to one of the local Refuse Transfer Stations.

All public toilets that are not named below are open 24 hours, seven days a week. All toilets are unisex.
