How your rates are calculated
The amount of rates you pay is largely based on the land value of your property as supplied by our valuer, QV New Zealand. Other factors include rating areas and targeted rates.
Rating Information Database 
The Rating Information Database (RID) is a searchable public register showing the various rates applicable to properties in the Hastings District. It does not show ownership details for those properties.
Rates payment options
Four rates instalments are sent out during each financial year, between 1 July and 30 June. The due dates for the next instalments are:
- 19 August 2011
- 18 November 2011
- 17 February 2012
- 18 May 2012
