Selling Your Car?

Did you know that you are not allowed to advertise your vehicle for sale on the side of the road in the Hastings District? This means any writing or sign indicating the car is for sale.

Since 1995, Council has been enforcing the Traffic and Parking Enforcement Bylaw which prohibits the selling of cars on any public roadside in the District.

The Bylaw was introduced out of concern for traffic safety due to the potential for a drivers attention to be distracted and also because these vehicles spoil the amenity of the district.

A 'For Sale' sign, price or similar message on your vehicle parked on the roadside will result in a $40 fine.
