Marae Development Fund

The purpose of the Marae Development Fund is to assist marae preservation maintenance and development, in a strategic way.


To be eligible for the fund, the applicant marae will:

  • Be within Hastings District
  • Be registered as a marae reservation under the Maori Land Court.

Further requirements

As a general rule, the allocation of any funds for any project will require 50% of the total cost of an approved project to be met by the applicants before any work may commence.
