Community Events Support

Hastings District Council's Community Events Support Funds are available to not-for-profit community organisations hosting community events in the Hastings District. Applications for support can be made at any time of the year, applicants must be made two months prior to the event date.

Council Facility Fee Assistance

This fund helps charitable or not-for-profit organisation in Hastings with the cost of Council Parks, Reserves and Venues for Community Events

Community Event Support Fund

If your event is in line with Council’s event strategy, it may be considered for Council sponsorship.

Who do we fund:

The Community Events Fund is available to not-for-profit community organisations planning community events in the Hastings District that are in line with Council’s Event Strategy,

What are our funding priorities:

  • Events that are low cost or free to access
  • Community lead events ran by not-for-profit and charitable organisations
  • Events that are accessible to the wider community and encourage participation from across diverse communities
  • High profile community events that contribute of the economic development of the district
  • Event take place within the Hastings District Boundaries and benefit significant numbers of Hastings residents

What we don’t fund:

  • Private functions
  • Events that promote religious, ministry or political purposes
  • Events run solely for commercial profit or individual gain
  • Events that denigrate, exclude or offend parts of the community
  • Events that present a hazard to the community or pose a significant risk to the public or council
  • Events that have already been held and retrospective costs
  • Events that have breached previous funding agreements with the council, including post-event reporting criteria.

Application dates:

  • Applications for funding can be made at any time of the year.
  • Applicants must be made two months prior to the event date.
