Mark your calendars for Taste Hastings, the award-winning street party of epic proportions set to return to Heretaunga St East on November 8.
An annual event since 2022, it’s an evening of food, wine and live music that brings the region’s food and wine producers to the people in the vibrant East block of Hastings city centre.
Last year more than 2000 people took the opportunity to sip, taste and delight in the large array of wines from more than 28 wineries, along with a range of local beers and ciders, complemented with live music and food trucks.
“Taste Hastings is a great event to get together with friends and family, chill out in the evening sun and taste some amazing Hawke’s Bay wines from 28 wineries, all in one location,’ said Hastings District Council marketing, tourism and experience lead Vicky Roebuck.
“And of course, Hastings’ city centre has great restaurants and foodies who will be cooking up a storm so you can really make a night of it.”
This collaborative approach between Hastings District Council and Hawke’s Bay Winegrowers to showcase the best of Hawke’s Bay saw Taste Hastings 2023 crowned Best Food, Beverage or Lifestyle Event at the 2024 New Zealand Event Association Awards, and this year will be one you won’t want to miss, she said.
While sampling the tasty offerings, there will be live music from Stolen Records, DJ LiL B will be playing in Landmarks Square, and the Flock Events Street Lounge will be set up to chill out in.
Entry is free, and people aged over 18 years can pre-purchase a pass for $15 that includes four wine tasting tokens and a glass to keep (via Eventfinda).
Tasting tokens and glasses are also available to purchase on the day, and people are welcome to bring their own glasses if they wish.
Taste Hastings will run from 5.30pm to 8.30pm and the Heretaunga East Street bars and eateries will be open if people want to make an evening of it and dine in.
Passes can be purchased ahead of the event at Eventfinda.
