Middle Road infrastructure

MiddleRoad intersectionPlanned drinking water and wastewater network extensions and road safety improvements are starting on Middle Road.

Hick Bros Civil Construction Ltd (HBCC) has been appointed as the civil contractor to carry out the work on behalf of Hastings District Council (HDC).

FAQs

What is the timeframe for the work?

From Tuesday 4 June, a section of Middle Rd, from Breadalbane Rd to the Gilpin Rd intersection, was closed for the first stage of this two-stage project. The work is expected to take about 10 months. We will provide updates on the second stage of the work when timelines are confirmed.

How will the work impact me?

Roading MiddleRoad

Detours will be in place around the closed area (although residents will have access at all times). The map shows the road closure and detour route for the first stage of work.

You can expect to see increased traffic on the detour route and may wish to adjust your travel plans accordingly.

Why is this work being done?

The water infrastructure will service the new Iona housing subdivision. Council is taking the opportunity to make road and safety improvements when the road is reinstated following the work.
