Youth Potential Awards

Ngā Tohu Aumangea - The Youth Potential Awards seek to recognise commitment, hard work, resilience, leadership and overcoming adversity. The awards categories are Tāne (Male), Wahine (Female), and Rōpū (Group).

ToitoiYouthPotentialAwards PostponedThe awards are a great opportunity to showcase the achievements of young people and the great work that is being done by our youth providers. Their efforts, as showcased through receiving awards, can also serve as an inspiration to others.

This year’s awards are postponed due the COVID-19 alert level restrictions. The new date for the awards is likely to be in March or April 2022 but will depend on what COVID-19 rules and restrictions allow for at the time. Keep an eye on this page or our Hastings District Council Facebook page for further updates.

Nomination criteria and information

Nga Tohu Aumangea - The Youth Potential Awards seek to recognise commitment, hard work and resilience. These awards are to acknowledge rangatahi who have achieved success in the face of adversity, may not get recognised for this in their current setting and continue to be successfully engaged in school and/or a youth programme.

Award categories are Tane (Male), Wahine (Female) & Roopu (Group). Nominations close Monday 25 October 2021.

All nominees must:

  1. Be part of a Youth Provider programme or service and/or currently be attending school
  2. Reside in the Hastings district or be Hastings-based residents
  3. Be between the ages of 13 and 19.
