Te Aute Road watermain upgrade

Essential water infrastructure work is scheduled in Havelock North (August – December 2020) as part of our ongoing commitment to drinking water upgrades improving water safety, capacity and supply resilience.

Our EnvironmentAs part of our ongoing commitment to drinking water upgrades to improve water safety, capacity and supply resilience, work on pipework infrastructure in Havelock North is scheduled from August – December 2020.

This work provides essential network upgrades to support future growth in the area. It will also provide additional firefighting capacity for the Ryman Healthcare development (Ryman will be contributing to the costs of this part of work).

What to expect

Te Aute Road from Porter Drive roundabout to Ryman Healthcare development.

Commencing 24 August 2020

Contractors will be working along the southern parking lane of Te Aute Road
Two-way traffic flow will be maintained along Te Aute Road as works are in the parking lane, using techniques that do not require open trenching. There will be restrictions to parking and cyclists in the southern lane. If individual driveway access will be interrupted, our contractors will make direct contact with affected residents in advance.

Porter Drive/Te Aute Road roundabout to Anderson Park entrance

14 September – 18 September 2020

Intensive traffic management will be in place at the roundabout while connecting this section of the pipeline. Expect one lane to be closed at all times. Road closures/traffic management will be clearly sign posted and communicated.

Anderson Park/Karamū Stream

12 October – 21 October 2020

A section along the boundary of Anderson Park will require open trenches – this area will be fenced off and grounds will be reinstated at the conclusion of works. This work has been scheduled between rugby and cricket seasons to minimise disruption to park users.
