Madcap and Etiquette bring you the most anticipated show this summer in Hawke’s Bay.
The inaugural ‘Summer Solstice’ concert takes place on Friday December 20th at the iconic Hawke’s Bay Racing Centre. Featuring award winning kiwi acts, headlined by Shapeshifter and support from The Upbeats, MC Tiki & Sunshine Sound System as well as local acts Debbie Fear & Ariana Henare.
As festival favourites for the past 20-odd years, it’s fair to say Shapeshifter’s fans have grown accustomed to experiencing their heavy soul-meets-drum n bass live show. Expect brand new joints and fan-favourite anthems alike, delivering Shapeshifter’s stadium-sized spectacle to a tight-knit crowd of rapturous punters.
The Upbeats are a serious force to be reckoned with in the Drum & Bass world. Having collaborated on every major DNB label, along with numerous releases with artists such as Noisia, Foreign Beggars and Shapeshifter to name a few. The pair have had global success and are highly rated with their electrifying shows.
Affectionately known as ‘King of the Dubs’, Tiki Taane's extraordinary ability to rock the mic as both a gifted performance MC and/or a solo acoustic performer is something to be experienced. Catch the legendary MC on stage, doing what he does best, to unify the crowd.
Shapeshifter’s long-time tour mates Sunshine Sound System (AKA DJ Downtown Brown and MC KP) are ready to serve as masters of ceremonies, keeping the party lit from go to whoa with their tried and true blend of MC-ing, dancehall, reggae and hip hop.
On local support feature Debbie Fear, a four-piece band that have delved into their own iconic sound that is quickly being recognised in New Zealand and Ariana Henare, an acoustic act that will captivate you with her soulful voice and graceful stage presence.
Expect the very best in live entertainment and local hospitality, set within the surrounds of an iconic Hawke’s Bay venue. A musical journey from start to finish, this is one event you don’t want to miss. Get your friends together and kick off a memorable summer in Hawke’s Bay.
