Thousands of dollars up for grabs

Entries are now open for the 2016 Tremains Spring Spruce Up Awards, with a $2000 cash prize up for grabs.

The awards, a partnership between Hastings District Council and Tremains, are open to both those who are planning a makeover of their front yard or who already have a beautiful front garden.

“We want to encourage and celebrate those who are doing their bit to keep Hastings beautiful – and cement our status as New Zealand’s most beautiful city, one property at a time.” says Rachel Stuart, Hastings District Council’s Parks Planning and Development Manager.

“Whether you already have a beautiful garden or you’re doing up your front yard with a lick of paint and some new plantings, we want you!”

Simon Tremain, managing director of Tremains Real Estate says: “As a real estate agency, we know that street appeal can work wonders when it comes to selling your home. We are pleased to support this fantastic initiative that encourages local residents to increase the value of their homes and help to retain Hastings’s title as New Zealand’s Most Beautiful City.”

Formerly known as the Street As Awards, the Tremains Spring Spruce Up Awards have both an open category (for an existing front yard/garden) and a makeover category. A first prize of $2000 will be awarded in each category, with cash and voucher prizes for second and third place.

Those entering the makeover category will need to supply a ‘before’ photo which judges will compare with an ‘after’ photo taken during judging. If entering in the open category, properties will be judged following the competition closing date.

Entries close on 14 October 2016. Judging will take place from 25th November to 1st December and winders will be announced on 2nd December.
