Take yourself on a tour of the Arts Trail

arts trail MyHastings Oct2021

On Labour Weekend art admirers can get out in the Spring sunshine and enjoy the second Hawke’s Bay Art Trail, a collaboration between Arts Inc. Heretaunga and Creative Arts Napier.  The Trail features many of the studios listed in the HB Art Guide.

There really is something for all tastes.

Seven Havelock North artists show a diverse range of painting media and ceramics, including Kay Bazard, Susanne Clarke and Gina Guerin. As a bonus, Gina is offering a resin-pouring demo at 11am on Sunday.

In Clive, painter Susan Davidson teams up with Tukituki potter Kim Morgan.  Next door is Peter Maclean wood design, and on the coast are Ema Scott’s exquisite sculptural pieces, Jo Fisher’s glorious landscapes, and Mary Jessie Sullivan’s intriguing encaustic process, plus others.

Downtown Hastings City boasts wonderful public art and Hastings City Art Gallery has partnered with AIH to bring you a fascinating one-hour tour, led by John Eaden.

Get the in-depth stories and understand the relevance to the urban landscape.  Please note, the tour is free and needs a minimum of five to proceed.

This is just a taster so pick up a map for details of many more open studios and start curating your own regional art tour!

Depending on the Covid Alert Level, mask wearing and social distancing may be required. Check the facebook page for the latest information.
