Photography, horse racing and wine are being showcased in events in Hastings this month.
Fotofest is back for the third year from 14-22 September, partnering with local businesses to celebrate the art of photography with more than 30 individual exhibitions showing throughout Hastings city over 10 days. For the first time in Australasia, this year’s event will include an exhibition of the Sony World Photography Awards’ shortlisted images from both the Open and Youth competitions.
Other exhibitions will feature the likes of lego figures photographed in real world environments, ocean and surf photos, and images from the IHC Art Awards.
There will also be photographer talks, photography workshops for teens, and a local youth exhibition and competition.

The Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction celebrates the 32nd edition of this fantastic event in 2024 on Saturday, 14 September at Toitoi – Hawke’s Bay Arts and Events Centre.

Back and bigger than ever, this iconic Hawke’s Bay Festival offers racing action, excitement, live entertainment, music, fashion and great hospitality at the Hawke’s Bay Racing Centre.
The action kicks off with the Westbury Stud Tarzino Trophy Daffodil Raceday on September 7 followed by the Arrowford Stud Plate Day on September 28. The carnival wraps up with the Livamol Classic Race Day on October 12.
