As part of its ongoing investment to improve the district’s infrastructure, Hastings District Council contractors will soon be upgrading the sewer main in the Akina and Parkvale area.
The work is necessary due to the age of the pipe and capacity issues, and due to its complex nature is going to be conducted in three stages.
The first stage will start in late April and is estimated to be completed by late October this year.
Residents and businesses most likely to be affected are those from the intersection of St Aubyn St and Park Rd North to the intersection of Victoria St and Willowpark Rd.
During the project portions of the road could be closed or have restricted access, but residents will have access to their driveways at all times.
There may also be restrictions to parking and cyclists along the route.
