A water irrigation ban has been put in place at Waimarama effective from today, Monday, December 30, 2019.
With a sustained period of hot weather ahead of us, a full irrigation ban (no sprinkler or hand irrigation is allowed) is now in place in Waimarama to ensure adequate water supply can be maintained during the peak holiday season.
Council asks that the Waimarama community adopt these water conservation measures to ensure that essential household supply and firefighting reserves can be maintained.
Council staff are closely monitoring water levels and will be present in the community to monitor water usage.
Please talk to your neighbours in case they don’t know of the irrigation ban.
This ban will continue to at least 1 February, 2020.
