After the disruption of the Covid-19 lockdown, things are returning to normal for the community centre and gym, with popular programmes up and running again.
In the last couple of weeks the “Cooking with Kids” classes have started up again, a great way for tamariki to learn how to cook healthy snacks for the whole family.
These free classes run every Wednesday 3.30pm-4.30pm in the Wharekai.
The chess club is also back. Free and open to all ages and skill levels, it’s a way to practice problem-solving skills, creative thinking and patience. The club happens at the community centre every Wednesday 5pm-7pm and everyone is encouraged to come along and have a go.
These are in addition to the regular community centre classes such as strength and balance, Line Dancing and Tai Chi, and all the FlaXrock gym sessions and classes.
