Look after your animals over Guy Fawkes

Dogs curtains

Special care needs to be taken of animals on and around Guy Fawkes Night.

A dog’s hearing is much more acute than a human’s and the loud explosions and high pitched scream of fireworks causes considerable stress.

Don’t let-off fireworks close to or around any animals.

Keep the curtains closed and keep your pets busy.

Someone should stay at home on Guy Fawkes Night to keep pets company. However, don’t over comfort them, you risk rewarding and enforcing anxiety.

Make sure your animal can be identified (registration tag, microchip or some form of identification)

Ensure gates and windows are closed.
