Christmas and New Year 2020/21 open hours

Council services and facilities will be operating during the Christmas and New Year holidays although some will have reduced hours and days.

HDC Customer Service Centre

CLOSED from 3pm, December 24, 2020 to 8am January 5, 2021.
The 24-hour call centre will remain open throughout the holiday period, phone (06) 871 5000.

Rubbish and recycling

Recycling and rubbish collection days will change for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Normal collection day: Friday 25 December. Changed to: Saturday 26 December.

Normal collection day: Friday 1 January. Changed to: Saturday 2 January.

Henderson Rd Refuse Transfer Station

• CLOSED Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
• Mondays to Saturdays: 7.45am to 4.30pm
• Sundays and public holidays (including December 28 and January 4): 9:45am to 4:30pm

Blackbridge Refuse Transfer Station

• CLOSED Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
• Thursday to Monday: 8:00am to 4:30pm
• CLOSED Tuesdays and Wednesdays

7 days a week, 24 hours a day

 Sunday opening will resume on 10 January with the Hasting War Memorial Library open 1-4pm each Sunday.
