Workplace cycle challenge – ride and win

aotearoa bike challange

The Aotearoa Bike Challenge is back and Hastings workplaces are encouraged to join this fun, free competition to get more people out enjoying the benefits of cycling during the month of February.

Run by Love to Ride and Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, challenge participants can cycle anywhere they like, any time they like during the month, and they only need to ride for 10 minutes for it to count.

There will be live leaderboards on the challenge website showing which organisations are on top. Individuals earn points for riding and encouraging others to ride, and these points count towards their organisation’s total, putting them in the running for prizes.

Can you top Hastings District Council’s stats? Last year, our riders clocked up 6006 kilometres and 344 trips in total.

For all the information and to register and record your rides go to www.aotearoa.bike.

To help get you motivated during the challenge, or just to get biking in general, Hastings District Council in conjunction with Sport Hawke’s Bay will be hosting a number a number of free pop-up breakfasts the week of February 15-19.

Head to www.iway.org.nz for a full breakdown of locations and times.
