HDC BeSafeBeSeen HDC webslider 2021

Reflective clothing and bright lights are the best way to ensure others see you if you’re out and about on a bike in the early hours of the morning or at night at this time of year.

Hastings District Council will once again be supporting the annual Be Safe Be Seen campaign run by iWay over the month of May. (Not run in 2020 due to COVID-19).

The campaign encourages cyclists, walkers and runners to have the correct equipment – lights, bright clothing and other reflective gear – if they are out and about in the early mornings and evenings.

The iWay team will holding pop ups – and giveaways of safety equipment – in various locations in Hastings throughout May. Stay tuned to our Facebook page www.facebook.com/loveiway for further details closer to the time.

iWay is funded by the Hastings District and Napier City Councils, and Waka Kotahi (NZTA).

The Be Safe Be Seen campaign supported by Road Safe Hawke’s Bay, Sport Hawke’s Bay, and New Zealand Police.
