Public Consultation - Draft Annual Plan 2022/23

Hastings District Council is submitting its Draft Annual Plan 2022/23 for public consultation from 2 April 2022 to the submission closing date of 16 May 2022.

The Annual Plan Consultation Document largely consists of an update on projects planned for the 2022/23 year which formed part of previous consultation with the community via the Long Term Plan 2021/31 process.

Council is highlighting one additional proposal in the plan which relates to the proposed purchase of the Tomoana Showgrounds. We would particularly like to hear your views on this proposal. The A&P Society, which has owned the property for more than 100 years, is preparing to sell the property. If Council purchases the property, it will be protected as a park for all time.
The 2022/23 budget has been set in line with that which was forecast within the Long Term Plan, despite a range of new cost pressures and inclusion of the proposed showgrounds purchase. The overall budget increase being 6.6%.

• Completing the submission form online at www.myvoicemychoice.co.nz
• Filling out a form at the Hastings, Flaxmere and Havelock North libraries or the Council's Customer Service Centre, 207 Lyndon Road East, Hastings
• Returning the reply-paid submission form that will go out with your next rates notice along with the Annual Plan brochure
