Public meetings on water contamination

Public meetings on the water contamination will be held in Havelock North next week.

Click on the flyer or read below for more information.

Because of the numbers expected to want to attend, two meetings are being held in the largest venue available in the village. The Riverbend Bible Church, 354 Te Aute Rd, Havelock North, seats 510 people.

On the invitation, Hastings mayor Lawrence Yule and chief executive Ross McLeod acknowledge again that it has been a devastating time for the community. “We offer our sincere apologies for this. We are working hard to discover the cause as well as developing a recovery program for Havelock North. We are committed to full transparency.”

The two meetings are being held at 5.30pm next Tuesday and Wednesday (August 30 and 31).

For those unable to attend a live streaming on the internet has been set up: www.riverbend.org.nz then click on Live Stream.

At this meeting we will present an update on how Council is fixing the water supply, the investigation, the recovery plan and answer questions that the community may have.
