Keeping cool is a priority for our kids these summer holidays, and this Saturday and Monday they have two perfect opportunities to have heaps of fun in the water.
The district’s two outdoor pools have pool parties planned; on January 14 at the Village Pool in Havelock North and January 16 at the Frimley Pool in Hastings.
Both events run from 11am to 4pm. The cost to get in is the same as normal: $1 for five and unders, $3 for 5 to 17 year olds, $3 for pensioners and $4 for adults.
Water slides, pool toys and a sausage sizzle will all be part of the fun. At the Village Pool there will be a “bombing” competition with prizes and giveaways.
Based on previous years a couple of hundred children will make the most of each of the days, meaning there will be plenty of kids to play with as well.
The weather forecasts for the two days are hot; cloudy with a high of 27 this Saturday, and fine with a high of 25 for Monday. The pool temperatures are sitting at about 24 degrees.
