Roads update Saturday 10am

The New Zealand Transport Authority re-opened State Highway 5 (Napier-Taupo Rd) yesterday afternoon, but advised extreme caution given the icy conditions.

Local roads in Hastings, Central Hawke’s Bay and Wairoa, as well as some state highways, continue to be affected by snow and rain.

Road closures:

TAIHAPE Rd is closed to all but residents from the Kaweka Forestry headquarters to the Rangitikei end.

PUKETITIRI Rd is closed from the Bulls Clearing (just west of Whittle Rd) to all but residents.
