Christmas and New Year 2019/2020 open hours

Council services and facilities will be operating during the Christmas and New Year holidays although some will have reduced hours and days.

HDC Customer Service Centre

Closed 3pm, December 24, 2019 – to January 3, 2020
The 24-hour call centre will remain open throughout the holiday period, phone (06) 871 5000.

Rubbish and recycling

No changes to kerbside rubbish and recycling collection, even if it falls on a public holiday.

Henderson Rd Refuse Transfer Station

• Closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
• Monday to Saturday: 7.45am to 4.30pm
• Sundays: 9.45am to 4.30pm

Blackbridge Refuse Transfer Station

• Closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day
• Mondays: 7.30am to 5pm
• Saturdays and Sundays: 9am to 5pm.

Recycling only
7 days a week, 24 hours a day
