Kaiwaka Road Reserve

Hastings District Council gives public notice of its intention to consider the following proposed resolution to grant an access easement over an area of local purpose reserve (community use) to permit access to the adjoining lot, along with the gifting of land to increase the size of the Kaiwaka Road Reserve.

“That, pursuant to section 48 of the Reserves Act 1977, Hastings District Council agree to commence the statutory process for the granting of an easement across the Kaiwaka Road Hall Reserve.” 

Background:

The Hastings District Council has considered a proposal from the Jessop Family to gift to Council for the local community use, an existing, privately owned tennis court of approximately 390m2 in area, as an addition to the existing Hall Reserve land.    The Jessops also request that Council grant an access easement over the existing Hall property carpark.  The easement will allow alternative private access to the rear lot, without altering the way in which the public can use the carpark.  The land gift will expand the reserve for public uses.

Any person wanting to submit on or object to the proposed exchange may do so in writing giving details of their submission or objection to the Parks and Property Asset Manager, Hastings District Council, Private Bag 9002, Hastings 4156.  Submissions or objections must reach the Hastings District Council’s Parks and Property Asset Manager by 4.00pm Friday, 23rd February 2018.
