Final by-election result in

The final result of the by-election for the vacant Hastings District Council Havelock North-Hastings ward seat has been announced today (April 13).

Eileen Lawson has received the most votes with 3439.

The seat was left vacant after sitting councillor Sandra Hazlehurst was elected Hastings mayor in a by-election in November.

Voting opened on March 20 and closed at noon today, April 11, with 9339 voting papers received. That represented 28.56 per cent of eligible voters in the Havelock-North-Hastings ward.
