Council works hard to re-home suitable dogs to new 'forever' homes if there owners can't be found or are unable to take them back.
We regularly list dogs we have for re-homing on our Facebook page.
The adoption fee is $297. All dogs adopted out are de-sexed, health checked, treated for fleas and worms, vaccinated, registered and micro-chipped. All of our dogs up for adoption need to be visited in person.
If you see a dog on the HDC Facebook page that you would like to meet, please complete an application form.
We work closely with SPCA Hastings to ensure our dogs are re-homed.
The SPCA Hastings, as well as taking selected adult dogs, take care all of the puppies which arrive at the centre (three months of age and under). If you're looking for a puppy, be sure to contact them.
