Local Area Plan (closes 20 December 2024) Napier and Hastings Future Development Strategy (closes 23 December 2024)

Omahu Road North Industrial Area

Hastings District Council has completed a variation to rezone land on the northern side of Omahu Road for industrial activity. The rezoning means that some 63 hectares of land is now available for industrial land use.

Key changes made as a result of the Omahu Road variation are:

  • An increase in the land area included in the zone
  • That stormwater disposal will be constructed by individual landowners within the service corridor to the rear of the zone and on-going maintenance will be managed by Council (water supply and waste water will connect to Council's network)
  • Staging of development is no longer required
