District Plan
The Resource Management Act 1991 requires local authorities to have a district plan to manage the physical and natural environment.
The Hastings District Plan guides how the district’s land and resources can be used, developed or protected, in order to avoid or lessen the impact of any adverse effects. It sets out the rules and standards for land uses in Hastings District. If these are not met, a resource consent will be necessary. To find out more contact the Council’s Duty Planner.
From time to time parts of the plan will be subject to amendment via a Variation or District Plan Change.
Councils are required to review the District Plan every 10 years.
